Positioning

The guitar is held in a specific way that
needs to be learnt. There should be enough room to hold the
guitar and move the hands freely. Keep the guitar on your lap
with the front facing outside. For a right handed person the
headstock should be placed towards the left and vice versa.
Guitar will have a curvy indention that helps to support both
right and left hand. The thickness of the guitar will decrease
from your chest area to the foot. Make a picking hand and place
it in between the thumb and the index finger.
Tuning the guitar: The
guitar should be tuned at a regular basis. The pitch of the
guitar should be adjusted so that all the strings are rightly
placed. Tightening the peg will raise the pitch of the string
and by loosening the string the pitch gets reduced.
Playing the notes: Start
from the sixth string. It will produce a note termed E. moving
down the strings; the notes that are produced are A, B, G and D
respectively. The chords are in a sequence and produces
different sounds.
Playing the chord: Chord
can be said as a combination of 2 notes which is played
simultaneously. It will create a full and rich sound. The notes
have at least three notes which are played in a sequence. Some
of the notes used may be even more. While playing the chords
multiple strings should be played together. This is termed as
strumming. The basic chords are C, G, A, D and E majors. These
cords of guitar can be mastered with continuous
practice.
With practice you can learn to play the
guitar like a professional.
